Emmy Inspiration

So I don't know if any of you watched the Emmy's last night, but there were lots of BEAUTIFUL white dresses that could definitely double for wedding dresses.  Here are some of my favorites from the night!

(Kerry Washington in Marchesa, Padma Lakshmi in Kaufmanfranco, Claire Danes in Armani Prive, Taylor Schilling in Thakoon, Malin Ackerman in Marchesa)

How great do all these ladies look?!  My favorites are Taylor and Malin.  I could so see that Thakoon dress being worn by a modern NYC bride. And Malin's mermaid gown screams wedding dress.  I wouldn't be surprised if we saw that on some brides soon.  What are your thoughts?

What Do I Wear????

So I'm going to a wedding this weekend. YAY! Love weddings.  But I'm still unsure about what to wear.  Its "on the more casual side".  Which ultimately makes it all the more confusing.  The major dilemma, I don't want to be over-dressed but I definitely don't want to be under-dressed.  Therefore,  my dilemma has inspired a post; a post all about what one should wear to a wedding (for weddings of all types of course) Here we go!

White Tie Wedding

Ladies...this is what a white tie wedding means.  This guy looks good.  You gotta look even better.  I couldn't even find a lady pic for this one.  Basically, just wear the NICEST dress you own (or can afford to buy).

Black Tie Wedding

Black is a safe bet with this one.  Of course, men must wear a tux.  Women are encouraged to wear long dresses, and if you must go short pleaseeeeee stick to dark shades and luxurious fabric.

Black Tie Optional

Now you have options.  If you want to wear that tux, you can!  But if your more comfortable in a suit, that works too!  And for dresses, I would say that most women close to the bride and groom (family and wedding party) dress in Black Tie attire (i.e. long dresses, dark colors) but most guests will stick to cocktail dresses.

Casual Weddings

Casual is often where it gets confusing.  For this use your best judgement (kind of like what I'm doing for my wedding).  You definitely don't want to be under dressed.  The maxi dress above is light and airy but the length keeps it from being too casual.  And guys, just wear that sports jacket in case.  You can always take it off if it gets uncomfortable.

SHOCKER: Holly Madison Wedding

Holly Madison got married this weekend.  In Disneyland.  Interesting.  But what's more interesting is her wedding gown.  Clearly someone looked to Kate Middleton for inspiration.   Definitely not something I would have expected to see Holl in but hey,  you look good girl!

Happy 4th of July!

In honor of the 4th, here is some red white and blue inspiration!  Nothing warms our heart more than a patriotic wedding.  The 4th of July can be so sentimental for many people, a perfect day to spend surrounded by your family and closest friends.

Happy Engagement to Matthew Morrison and his fiance!  Get a look at the ring here

Ring Ring RINGS

Here is some eye candy for ya!  I know sometimes it can be hard to differentiate between the different cuts for engagement rings,  so here is a guide that I made. I see lots of guides online but never with real life images (and sometimes it takes seeing it in an actual picture to appreciate how pretty the cut is).  Take a look at our guide and do some research before you make your purchase!  You want to make sure your going to have a ring that you'll L-O-V-E forever, and not one that will be going out of style soon.

Bridal Guide: Wedding Trends for 2013

Lets talk about trends.  As we all know, they are constantly changing.  Who hasn't looked back at their parents old wedding album and though "Oh god, what was my mom wearing?!"  And the same holds true for all aspects of the wedding.  Back in 80's you weren't seeing  photo booths and chalkboard decor all over, while nowadays they are seem almost everywhere.  So what are the trends of 2013?  Luckily, Bridal Guide has made a list for us.  Lets go through it and share some our our favorite pinspirtation!

"The palette that pairs with the new formal wedding? Neutral"

Now, this is probably my favorite trend of all, and one that i hope stays around a long time (like forever).  The neutral colors make the decor so elegant, but without being over the top. In the words of Teresa Giudice, LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

"What’s In: Peonies."

Ugh, another trend I am loving.  Peonies are EVERYWHERE these days, and I say the more the merrier.
Not only do they look beautiful on their own, but they compliment so many other types of flowers when they are paired in a bouquet.  This trend also goes along with the neutral trend a bit seeing that they often coming in neutral colors.

"Pattern."

Ok, so in the article they are referencing invitations, but lets be real; big, bold patterns are being used throughout entire weddings.  We see them on bridesmaids, groomsmen, table decor, and of course the invites.  I'm a fan of this trend, it definitely gives a wedding some umphhh and just overall equals fun.  However, patterns are "trendy" so who knows how long this one will stay popular.

"Those with a sweet tooth, take heart. According to Beth, dessert bars are here to stay"

Making my hungrayyyy!!! Yeah dessert bars are super cool and a really fun idea.  And what is great is that they can be incorporated into any theme, so I think they'll be here a while.

"Going Green And DIY"

And of course the DIY wedding.  Another fun approach to a wedding, and a great way to not spend a fortune in the process.  I like DIY weddings, they're super cute and intimate, but are they practical?  When your making that invite  list how do you keep that number low?  Either way though, they are cute!

So yeah, those are some trends of 2013.  And we like em.  Do we love em? Will we love em in a few years?  That is yet to be forseen.
